🚣 Getting to the river
Leave the driveway and turn left onto Rang de la Côte Sainte-Jacques.
Continue straight; ignore the first large path on the right (neighbour's property).
About 60 m on, another path on the right, marked by a large rock.
Take that path — it leads to the river.
⚠️ Steep hill near the water, not easily walkable for those with limited mobility or the elderly. Stay on our side — the neighbour's land is across the stream.
🏞️ The river
🦺 No lifeguard and no life vests provided — bring your own and be careful.
🔥 Campfires near the river are prohibited (municipal by-law).
👟 Water shoes recommended (rocky bottom in places).
🚣 Kayaks and SUPs on site; bring any other water gear you like.
🗑️ Take back everything you bring, garbage included.
🔥 BBQ
Close the tank, clean and re-cover after use. Spare propane behind the house (refills reimbursed with receipt). Not available in winter.
🚽 Septic system
Only toilet paper, in normal amounts, goes down the drains — never wipes, grease, food scraps, medication or plastic. Keep water use light (short showers); run the washer and dishwasher only with full loads.
ℹ️ Good to know
🪵 Fireplace — dry wood only in the wood stove; keep fire lighters away from children.
🤫 Noise — no noise after 11 p.m. (municipal by-law #198-2018).
📷 Cameras — motion sensors on the driveway and by the river equipment.
🧽 Cleaning — supplies under the kitchen sink; vacuum in the cabinet under the counter.
